Here we have Robin Skinner’s self-titled debut album under the Cavetown moniker, a fascinating self-released artifact that captures the bedroom pop virtuoso in his most intimate form. This 2021 UK pressing represents something quite special in the Cavetown discography – while Robin had been releasing music digitally for years, this marks one of his earliest forays into physical releases on vinyl. The album showcases his trademark fingerpicked guitar work and whispered vocals that would later evolve into the more polished sound we’d hear on subsequent releases through major labels.
